Serif vs Sans-serif font

Serif it's a font with foot or tail in end of the font. Or serif is like a cowboy font. Sans-serif is font without serif, sans (if in french) meaning without (Belive it or not, but acctually i can speak french :D). The serif fonts example is: Times new roman, Georgia, Palatino and many others. The sans serif fonts is like: Arial, Helvetica, Verdana, Calibri and many-many others.
Serif
Versus
Sans-Serif
But much people, love the sans serif font, because serif is look like old font, but i still love the serif fonts, because they are good for typography.... "You can't create beautiful typography without the unique font type"
